| Millions of bricks were hand made by slaves to form the walls. The craftsmen working on the inside were from Philadelphia. They went back north when the war started. Plus the money dried up. The family lived for 9 years in the basement which was the only level finished. |

| Inn Natchez I found this house with the intricate porch screen. It reminded me of the screen at Eagle Island Camp. |

| This was called the Gardens. It had a wonderful porch along the whole front of the porch. |
